Declaration

Assalamualaikum and welcome to my blog. I am Siti Aisyah Ridza from 5B and from Kolej Profesional Mara Indera Mahkota, study Diploma in English Communication. Firstly, thank for visit my blog and in this blog I will tell you about the most dangerous island in the world but many people do not realize the existence of the island. Besides that, many people do not know what has make the island too dangerous for any visitors and I will tell you the story about the island.


Objective



The purpose of this blog is to discover of the uniqueness on this island beside want to learn more what has make the island unique compared other island around the world and what are the story behind this island until it becomes too dangerous for any people to visit the island.

Next, the objective of choosing this topic because want to share information to readers about the dangers of the island and what kind of animal who have inhabited the island until no one dared to go there.

Lastly, want to raise awareness among readers to know details about the place where they want to go before they plan to do vacation or holiday because there are some places may not be safe or suitable for them to holiday such as snake island.

Introduction

Ilha De Quemieda island in Brazil

Ilha De Quemieda is a name of this tiny island and it has been translate as “the island of the slash  and burn fire.It is because government has planned to develop a banana plantation on the island but it failed. Besides that, local residents in Brazil was called the island as a “snake island” a place where filled with most dangerous snake on earth was known as the golden lancehead viper where it can kill a human within an hour. 

Based on the history, the snake island was separated from Brazilian mainland over 11,000 years ago when sea level rose and it 30 miles from Sao Paolo in Brazil. However, Brazilian government has restricted tourist who want to visit the island and it was announced that the island is not suitable area to holiday.

Ilha De Quemieda was known as a snake island

Ilha De Quemieda is one of the areas who connected with the land in Brazil before it separated with the country. It happen because the level rose in sea increasingly and has made the island separated from the Brazil land. After from the incident, Brazilian government has planned to develop the island in banana plantation because the nature is suitable to develop the project but Brazil government failed to develop the island because after the incident, the island was uninhabited by humans and was inhabited by venomous snake.

However, Brazilian government has planned to kill this venom snakes by open fire and hope can chased snakes from the island to develop the island as a banana plantation but their planned was failed because the snakes never scared and move from the island but it increasingly time by time. Moreover, the population of snakes become increasingly and the government has decided to banned the island from any visitors for human safety.

The view of snake island
Based on story from people in Brazil, there are some people who have died because of the snake when they are on the island, not long ago there has one fisherman who wants to pick bananas but he was biten by golden lancehead snakes. After that, he managed to return to his boat where he succumbed to the snake's venom and navy has found his body on the boat deck in a pool of blood.

The golden lancehead viper was known as the most dangerous snake on earth where it can kill their prey less an hour and it also can melt human flesh. Golden lancehead viper (Bothrops insularis) as one of the dangerous species of pit viper and it most poisonous snakes on earth, meanwhile this snakes are often found in the forest that are not uninhabited by people and mostly it active during the day to find their prey.



Futhermore, to notice golden lancehead viper is the snakes has a yellowish brown colour on its underside skin and it grows to an average length of 28 inches which is 70 centimetres but it can reach a maximum of 46 inches (118 centimetres). Diet of these snakes in forest is bird because this snakes able to climb the trees in search of birds, meanwhile it can feed scorpion, lizard and other snakes to survive.

 Other than that, the bite from golden lancehead viper are five times more toxic than other snake and it's carried a seven percent chance to death, only three percent can survive if they get immediately treatment. the symptom from his bite is swelling, pain, vomiting, blood blisters, kidney failure and intestinal bleeding.

Population of golden lancehead in the island become increasing by time and it most 2000 – 4000 snakes on the island and one of the largest population densities of any snake species. Based on the researchers, nature on the island has made these species growth rapidly because it consist bare rocky, open grassy areas and lowland rainforest where comfortable place to breed. 


       Other than that, because of the comfortable environment where uninhabited by human has made them able to live in a good condition and it able breed without disruption from human. Furthermore, golden lancehead will breed on a wet season and mostly in a mid-April because it is suitable month for the snake to find their mates and it able to produce until 50 eggs each time in every year while it can make the population of golden lancehead increase. 


      Unfortunately, scientist has done a research about the snakes poison and they have found that the poison of golden lancehead snakes able to cure many disease which is heart disease, circulation and blood clots. From that, the snakes was been hunting by human to sale or import on the black market to gain their profit and price for one snake can fetch thousands of dollars. Moreover, this has been affect the population of snakes and it has been decreased during 2002 but it still managed as a dangerous island in the world.
